With the help of GPS, I drove to Ao Nang with my family alone. With the GPS, we choose to travel pass villages instead of going the usual highway in Thailand. The scenery along the way is amazing, villageses life is so relaxing .......
We spend 2 nites in Ao Nang at Tropical Herbal Spa & Resort.

We also explored most parts of Ao Nang town.

Ao Nang has developed in recent years from being a small fishing village to a major international resort for both holiday makers and budget travellers. All kinds of accommodation are available from basic bungalows right up to full-on five star resorts.
Daytime activities include some of Thailand's best diving, kayaking, jungle trekking and island tours. For the night owls there is live music, traditional cultural shows and some of the county's finest seafood restaurants.

The seafood in Krabi is so fresh, that just a few hours before it was happily swimming in the Andaman sea!
Continued development has seen Ao Nang emerge as a serious rival to Phuket in the tourism market. Yet unlike it's neighbour, Ao Nang takes pride in it's "village" atmosphere and all the locals assure us that this WILL NOT become the "new Phuket".
Ao Nang is a family destination. There are not too many visible elements of the "traditional" Thai nightlife and parents can rest assured that there are numerous activities for the little ones to keep them out of trouble!
Krabi has many tiny off-shore islands with beautiful unspoilt beaches and bays. Tours to these islands are now very popular and one of the better trips is the "Four islands tour", taking in Chicken Island, James Bond island and a couple of beautiful bays.
